Ocoee residents witness opening of retail center

Ocoee is bustling with real estate development these days. A cluster of retail businesses have opened recently, and locals now have several new shopping choices, with residential units to follow in 2026.

The first phase of Ocoee Village Center is now open on the southeast side. The development’s new open portion boasts a lineup of familiar names, including AT&T, Papa John’s Pizza, 7-Eleven, Tropical Smoothie Café, Chipotle, and Jersey Mike’s. Developers plan to continue expanding the retail side of the Center next year, with a well-known national grocery chain coming to the complex. Banner printing and similar printing services help inform the public of opening dates.

The expansion will continue in late 2026 when contractors will break ground on residential offerings. According to developer Konover South, those plans include the construction of 232 townhomes and 320 luxury apartments.

The dynamic business environment in Ocoee is no surprise to its residents. With only 18,000 residents in 1995, the town has now swelled to over 51,000 and is now the third-largest city in Orange County. According to the city website, local leaders believe enough land is available to support about 75,000. Keeping fees low and moving required paperwork quickly is among the strategies leaders use to fuel the city’s continued growth.

Konover South is a family-owned business that’s been in operation for 68 years. Started by Simon Konover in 1957, it has become a well-known leader in the Florida real estate development market.
