Work on new ER underway in New Port Richey

Ground has been broken on the new emergency room (ER) at AdventHealth in New Port Richey.

Access to advanced and timely emergency care will be provided by this new emergency room, which is in area of Pasco County with limited options despite its rapid growth.

The facility will span over 13,000 square feet and have 12 beds for patients. Comprehensive emergency services will be provided with imaging on site to include computed tomography (CT) scan and X-ray capabilities, a dedicated emergency department laboratory, portable ultrasound, a triage room, and three treatment bays.

A wide range of medical needs will be supported by the new emergency department, from life-threatening emergencies to minor injuries. As well as reducing the travel time for first responders and patients, the facility is expected to create approximately 35 new jobs and strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the region.

Dr. Matthew Smith, who will be practicing at the new facility, said that teams will now have what they need to respond effectively and quickly with this new ER, while patients will have access to care much closer to their homes.

The new emergency room is on State Road 54 and is expected to open by the winter. Banner printing can be used at such sites to inform residents of their benefits for a community.
