A free concert in the park will be held next month in New Port Richey.
The concert will be a tribute to Bobby Weir, celebrating his legacy and music, and will feature Dead Sea Florida. It will be at the Sims Park Amphitheater on Bank Street.
The concert is designed as a min-festival experience. From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. there will be a community drum circle on the north side of the park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends, their rhythm, and some good energy to start the experience as a community.
This will be followed by Dead Sea Florida performing live in two sets. They are a Grateful dead tribute band based in Florida known for being able to capture the timeless songs, groves, and improvisational spirit of the Grateful Dead and the music during the era of Bobby Weir.
Bobby Weir was a founding member of the Grateful Dead and helped to shape one of the most enduring and influential sounds of music in America with his ability to blend folk, rock, improvisation, and blues into a legacy that continues through this day to bring people together.
