Rental development planned for New Port Richey

Steps have been taken by the City Council of New Port Richey to enable Villa del Sol to be built on the former site of Community Hospital. Villa del Sol will be a development of multi-family apartment buildings and up to 473 single-family homes.

The property spans 23.69 acres and is north and south on Marine Parkway just east of Grand Boulevard. The property is currently zoned for government and office buildings and the City Council voted to change the zoning to medium density residential, which would enable the project to get underway.

Single family attached townhouses with balconies and arched doorways built in a Mediterranean style would be on the south side of the development. Apartment buildings would be on the north side. Each part of the development will have its own amenities which would include tennis or pickleball courts, playgrounds, swimming pools, dog parks, and similar features, with at least three of these for each section.

Brochure printing is often used to highlight the features and amenities of such planned development to garner interest from residents and others in the area.

Debbie Manns, City Manager, said the development would be rental properties only. She added that the developer said the rental prices would range from affordable to luxury living. She has been working with the developer for the past two years on creating this development.
