Pharmaceutical plant opens in New Port Richey area

A new facility has been opened by Belmar Pharma Solutions in Pasco County.

This facility is expected to add 150 jobs in the area in the next three years, which will be good news for those in nearby New Port Ritchey who may be looking for employment. Such new facilities often look to local Print shops to help spread the word about their opening and their job opportunities.

The compounding facility spans 25,000 square feet and is in the Asturia Corporate Center. It will produce compound medications and other products and cost the company $15 million to build. Belmar expects that this new plant will enable the company to serve more than 500,000 this year with oral, injectable, and topical personalized medications.

Belmar was founded in Denver in 1985 and its focus is on integrative and ant-aging therapies. It has seven facilities in the United States and operates and Women’s International Pharmacy, Custom Rx Pharmacy, Belmar Research, Green Mountain Pharmaceuticals, Belmar Select Outsourcing, and Belmar Pharmacy.

The Asturia Corporate Center is a spec project in the county that has been built with funds generated by the Penny for Pasco tax. This levy is a sales tax that raises money for cities, schools, and county government, 20 percent of which for the last item goes to economic incentives. This tax is expected to raise over $15 billion over a period of 10 years.
