Visitors to New Port Richey will now be greeted by a new sign as they enter here from US 19.
This sign is part of a project to revitalize the city and seems to be inspiring more revitalization in the area. The City Manager for the city of New Port Richey, Debbie Manns, said that the sign is a symbol of all the many good things there are in the city as well as those that are still to come.
Another project in the pipeline is one that will transform Railroad Square. Mann said that the Square is not well designed as people and vehicles find its design confusing. She added that vehicles park on the sidewalk, so pedestrians walk in the streets. The project will run down to Grand Boulevard and will expand the sidewalks so businesses can utilize those spaces for outdoor seating and other uses.
Mann said that in addition to the new sign this project will encourage visitors to stop in the downtown area as it will make it easier to access the area. News of such updates is often made known throughout a city with flyer printing.
The sign will be completed by May with the addition of a digital board to notify people of upcoming events and the Railroad Square project is expected to start in the next two months.
