New Port Richey businesses honored with awards

Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards, run by the Tampa Bay Times, has been given to 20 businesses in New Port Richey. These businesses received gold, silver, and bronze awards in several categories.

City Manager, Debbie L. Manns, expressed her pride in the commitment and passion the local businesses bring every day to the community. Announcements of such awards are often made throughout a community with poster printing.

The Tampa Bay Times produces this contest, which is based on votes. A community provides the nominations, which are placed in categories and comprise the official ballot. Voters can select one choice in each category in a period of 24 hours. Some of the categories are home and garden, schools, medical, food and beverage, and activities and entertainment.

Among the businesses to receive awards are Axe Hole NPR, a gold winner in the best game and arcade category; Grandma Sally’s, a gold winner in the best breakfast and best salad categories; Richey Suncoast Theatre, a silver winner in the best local theater company category; and The White Heron Tea & Gifts, a gold winner in the best tearoom category.

The community is invited to a celebration of these awards at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 25 at Sims Park on Main Street in downtown New Port Richey. Conan Gallaty, the CEO and Chairman of the Tampa Bay Times, will be the keynote speaker. The awards ceremony will follow his address.
