Vocalist brings unique talent to Miramar

Myrna Hague will be coming to the Miramar Cultural Center later this month, presenting her signature show ‘Simply Myrna’. The concert is being sponsored by Mayor Wayne Messam.

During the show, Hague will perform a wide range of musical selections from genres including pop selections, classics from jazz, and popular reggae. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Desi Jones, Musical Director, and guitarist Eugene Grey and his band.

According to Hague, what she likes most about this show is that it enables her to sing whatever she wants and to be herself. The University of the West Indies recently granted her a PH.D. and she currently lectures there on a part-time basis.

Joining Hague at the concert will be vocalist A.J. Brown, who has been popular in the Jamaica circuit and is currently the lead singer for Third World. Ian Sweetness, a reggae singer, will also join the stage and make his inaugural appearance to a new audience so that he can expand his base of fans.

Proceeds of the concert will go to the University of the West Indies for its scholarship program, which enables needy students to attend the University’s campuses throughout the Caribbean.

The concert will be held on April 17. The use of poster printing may be one way to promote this unique concert throughout the community.
