An event in the Miramar area will bring together pickleball players for a day of competition and community support.
This event will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Participants have the option to register as a single player for a round-robin tournament where partners will be assigned, or to enter the competitive round-robin category with a chosen teammate. Alongside the on-court action, attendees can enjoy food, drinks, music, vendors, and giveaways.
Driven by volunteers, the tournament aims to raise funds for cancer research. Winners will be determined by a one-point margin, and a total of 24 teams will compete in this category. In the competitive round-robin division, players register as a team, selecting from three experience levels.
The tournament schedule will be finalized after registration closes, with check-in beginning at 7:30 AM, with games starting at 8:00 AM. The registration fee for the round-robin event is $30 per single player, with the full amount donated to the American Cancer Society. For competitive round-robin participants, the fee is $60 per team, also benefiting the organization.
Businesses and organizations have the opportunity to support the cause through sponsorships and vendor participation. Banner printing is a popular form of advertising at events.
The Doubles Pickleball Tournament, hosted by the City of Cooper City and the Optimist Club of Cooper City, will take place on Saturday, April 5, at the Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex in Cooper City, around five miles from Miramar.
