SPEAK conference focuses on female leadership

An upcoming business conference in Miramar will focus on encouraging female leadership, entrepreneurship, and guidance.

The event is called the SPEAK women conference, with the name an abbreviation of Sisterhood, Purpose, Empowerment, Authenticity and Knowledge. It will be the second edition of the event, after a successful debut last year. The one-day conference will include speeches, panel discussions, small group sessions and plenty of opportunity for networking for other businesswomen and female professionals. Attendees to conferences like this typically pack plenty of Business Cards and promotional Pens to make a lasting impression.

Session titles include Personal Finance & Economic Empowerment, Small Business & Entrepreneurial Strategies and Mental and Emotional Health & Well-Being. Among the speakers are motivational coach Rachelle Sylvain-Spence and entrepreneur Dudley Etienne-Harvard. The conference is hosted by the SPEAK Women’s Movement, an organization founded three years ago that holds monthly “empowerment events.” The group describes their mission as such:

“The S.P.E.A.K. Women’s Movement was founded as a safe space where women can reveal and examine their authentic selves–without pretense, pressure or perfection. We believe that when women are empowered, inspired, and genuinely connected, they have the unparalleled capacity to become architects of positive change within their own lives and beyond.”

The 2020 SPEAK Women’s Empowerment conference will take place on April 4 at the Miramar Cultural Center. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance.
