National Caribbean-American Heritage Month events announced

June has been designated as National Caribbean-American Heritage Month and many cities, including Miramar, are preparing for their events. This yearly celebration was created to honor those who are from the multiple islands in the Caribbean.

With several planned events in the South Florida area, Print shops are likely busy creating Promotional Products and obtaining Business Cards for the vendors who will be setting up booths.

The Miramar celebration, which will take place Saturday, June 10, will feature entertainment, food vendors, and even a kid zone where children can play and enjoy activities.

Attendees at this event will also be able to enjoy the sounds of several different musicians, including a Haitian artist along with Latin and Jamaican bands. The event will be held from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Perry Park/Wellman Field. Admission is free.

Another event in the area is the Caribbean American Heritage Awards, which will be held on June 9 at 7:00 pm in Sunrise at the DoubleTree by Hilton-Sawgrass. Those who have supported their community or country will be honored for their contributions.

Further south in Miami is the Taste of the Caribbean/Caribbean305, an event that features quality chefs from Caribbean regions who compete against each other. Attendees with purchased tickets can enjoy tasteful dishes tapas style, and mixologists will also be on hand preparing cocktails. This event will be held June 23 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Jungle Island.
