A parade and festivities are planned in Miramar to celebrate the life and contributions of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The city of Miramar is celebrating MLK Day once again with a variety of free activities and a parade. The day begins with the parade at 11:00 am, which will last for approximately an hour. It will be followed by an afternoon of family entertainment at the Lakeshore Tennis Park. The family-friendly party in the park is open for everyone and will include a Kids’ Zone as well as plenty of food, live music and dancing.
Local vendors that wish to participate in the day’s events are welcome and may bring relevant Promotional Products to give away during the festivities. Anyone wishing to offer products for sale should contact the municipal office prior to the event at (954) 602-3325.
The parade begins at 11:00 am on January 15 and will march around Sherman Circle. The activities and the live entertainment will start at noon at the park located at 8501 Sherman Circle South in Miramar. The celebration in the park is scheduled to last until 4:00 pm. Admittance is free, and guests should bring blankets and chairs for their own comfort. The annual event is normally popular, so it is recommended that people arrive early to reserve their spots.
