The Heart Health Walk is ready to raise awareness for its fifth year.
Locals can get out of the winter doldrums and get moving again with this free community event. The City of North Miami Beach sponsors the walk to draw attention to the risks of heart disease in women, and the benefits of walking. Everyone is invited to take part in the 2.6-mile journey around Snake Creek Canal.
Participants can receive valuable health information from the medical experts running the booths at the site of the event. In addition to the advice, there will also be activities and games for children, prizes, and raffles. Food vendors, including a farmers’ market, will also be on site.
Spectators can start banner printing to encourage the walkers, and Miramar business owners or others in the health community from around the area that want to get involved can contact the organizers by calling (305) 787-6028.
The walk will take place on February 24 at the Patricia A. Mishcon Athletic Field at 16601 NE 15th Avenue in North Miami Beach. The event lasts from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and gates open at 8:00 am for registration for the walk. There is no fee to attend the event or participate. Visit the North Miami Beach website to download the Heart Health Walk registration form.
