Miramar offers applicants chance to find their next position

A free career fair is being held by the city of Miramar at the Town Center next week. It is cosponsored by WSVN Miami/Fort Lauderdale and partners are Mission United and CareerSource Florida, and is an annual event in the city.

The employment agency for the county, CareerSource Broward, will be conducting free workshops at the fair. Some of these will include writing a résumé, interviewing techniques, appropriate attire, and business etiquette.

Among the more than 50 employers scheduled to attend the fair are Walmart, Carnival Cruise Line, Pirtle Construction, and Mattress Firm. There will be many industries represented, including education, health and human services, and the healthcare field. Entry level to management positions will be available.

Those who plan to attend the fair are encouraged to dress in business attire and bring at least 20 Copies of their résumé to share with recruiters. The event is free and open to the public.

The career fair will be held on June 18 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. The city has created a flyer to attract as many people as possible to the fair, who will most likely look to business card printing once they have successfully landed a job.

The city of Miramar also provides a Transition Assistance program for military service members, retirees, veterans, and their families as they plan their careers and search for employment, and provides workshops to help them enter the civilian workforce.
