The Cocktails and Conversations event is for all change-makers, and those with ideas and interest in the upcoming L.E.A.D. Nation summit.
The adult-only cocktail party helps to bring together people who believe in helping the youth of today to learn more about becoming leaders and finding success. The party is part of the 6th Annual South Florida Youth Summit that will take place on October 20. The summit brings together organizations and community leaders that have worked to encourage youth in challenged communities to help find solutions to common problems.
L.E.A.D. Nation is the sponsor for both events. The nonprofit is a community-based organization that has, for 10 years, brought together parents, educators and community members to help local youth to find the resources and information they need. It enlists people to act as mentors to preteens and teens, and encourages community service, higher education and more.
Guests can bring Business Cards, ideas, and questions to the cocktail hour. It is an opportunity to learn, volunteer, or donate to the cause. It is also a chance for community organizers, and other youth-oriented leaders, to meet with elected officials, discuss their concerns, and possibly find assistance.
Cocktails and Conversation is on October 18 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Miramar Cultural Center, located at 2400 Civic Center Place in Miramar. Admission is free and interested parties can register via Eventbrite.
