Miramar grocer hosts virtual hiring fair

Grocery store chain Sprouts will be holding an online version of the typical job fair to help staff its new Miramar location.

The two-day virtual hiring event

will invite jobseekers to submit an electronic application and potentially move on to a video interview. The new store will be looking to hire over 100 full- and part-time workers, with positions ranging from department managers, to bakery workers, to cashiers.

Businesses moving into new areas often hold hiring fairs like these to get a gauge of the local population, with applications using Business Cards and résumé printing to make an impact. Current circumstances have forced a change to a digital process, but the same principles of preparedness and professionalism should apply.

Sprouts Farmers Market is an Arizona-based chain that consists of over 340 stores in 23 states. It bases its identity around fresh and organic products, aiming to capture the locavore and “foodie” market. The chain also places an emphasis on environmental sustainability in its practices and product sourcing. In Florida, it runs stores in Wellington, Jupiter and Deerfield Beach, and will open an additional location in Seminole this summer.

The Miramar Sprouts virtual hiring event will take place tomorrow and Thursday (May 13 and May 14). The store, located at 12216 Miramar Parkway, is set to open on June 24.
