Local church to host parenting training

Various non-profit organizations in and around the Miramar area have teamed up to help families prepare for parenthood.

The Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank and Memorial Healthcare System have announced the Birth, Baby, and Beyond Health Expo, scheduled for late May. Designed for expecting or new parents, this event features access to pediatric experts, workshops, guest speakers, raffles, and free health services to benefit young families. Free diapers will be presented to those who register for the event and obtain signatures at sponsor tables.

According to the church website, the history of Cooper City Church of God dates back to 1951, when C.L. and Penny Butcher established a church in nearby Hollywood. Church members met in temporary venues, including a storefront, for a period of two years. It was during this time that the fledgling church bought land on 25th Street in West Hollywood and began constructing a permanent location. Its growth compelled members to move again in 1996 to its current address in Cooper City.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 31st, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the church, which is at 9191 Stirling Road in Cooper City. Attendees must present either a printed or digital QR code to enter the venue. Planners of events such as this one may wish to use poster printing or other printing services to create publicity for their events.
