A South Florida food truck will be looking to bring the best local seafood to Miramar this February when it hosts an event appropriately named “Seafood Fest.”
The festival is the creation of Island Boyz Conch Shack, a food truck and catering company offering Caribbean food around the region. Miramar is home to a vibrant Caribbean diaspora, and hosts the Caribbean Village Food and Rum Festival each June. Island Boyz are looking to join in on the party with crabs, shrimp, conch, fish, and traditional vegetables. Seafood Fest will also feature live music and activities across its two-day length. The venue, also known as “Artspark”, is frequently used for concerts and shows as well as banquets and weddings.
Founded in 2015, Island Boyz is the brainchild of three cooks from the Bahamas, offering Bahamian favourites like conch fritters and fried fish. Based out of West Palm Beach, they put on and participate in food events across southern Florida. With the restaurant industry becoming more diverse every year, food trucks and restaurants often use events such as this, alongside unique graphic design and brochure printing, for take-out Menus, to make their name known. Similar events in Miami Gardens and South Dade are planned for February.
Seafood Fest will take place during the afternoon of February 29 and March 1 at Miramar Cultural Centre.
