The First Annual Miami Urban Book Expo offers the chance for everyone to mingle, meet, and learn more about locally produced literature next month.
Street literature and urban romance are in the spotlight for this expo. The organizers welcome all writers in the area that would like to bring in their work, increase their exposure and meet potential publishers during the event. The expo offers fans the chance to discuss the stories directly with the authors, take photos, and engage in a meet and greet session. Author gift Bags, gift raffles for the readers, and a live DJ are on the schedule, as well as many other activities.
Vendors that wish to contribute their own relevant promotional items or sell their merchandise can rent a table for $60 during the expo. A Readers Expo Pass that enables participants to enjoy the planned activities is free, but requires prior registration. Many publishers will also have tables to visit during the event.
The fee is $100 to reserve an author’s table, and all authors must complete their registration by February 1. The cost of the table includes two chairs, one guest ticket, a personalized flyer, and mentions of social media pages marketing the event.
The Urban Book Expo is on February 23 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Multi-Service Complex, at 6700 Miramar Parkway in Miramar. Register as a reader, author, or vendor at the Eventbrite website.
