Annual 5K to return to Miramar

The 3rd Annual Blue Hope Colon Cancer Awareness 5K run will take place in Miramar this March.

It aims to raise awareness among residents about colon cancer, while offering encouragement and support for local cancer victims.

The event will also serve as a source of funding for two programs related to the disease – the We Stand Together Financial Assistance Program and the Natalie Marc Surpris Scholarship Fund. The latter works with students whose parent or guardian has been affected by cancer, and provides funding for college students. The former offers assistance with living expenses to those battling cancer.

Patrons may look forward to an event T-shirt if they register early. The cost for registration will be $25, along with a $4.50 purchasing fee. Sign-up is available online through the event’s website. Registration includes race packets. The organizers recommend that attendees collect packets on the day designated for pick-up.

Banner printing is a great way for event organizers to mark the beginning and end of runs such as this one, and participants could be given Promotional Products to take home so that sponsors are remembered.

The race will take place on Saturday, March 11 at the Miramar Regional Park. This is located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar. The race begins at 8:00 am, with the closing and awards ceremony at 9:30 am.
