While Florida may be a popular destination for ‘snowbirds’, this December, it will be bringing a certain chilliness to those who live in Longwood and the communities that surround it.
Winter Park has planned its first ever ‘Snow in the Park’ celebration, and it is scheduled to run for two days. There will be a chill in the air as the crowd enjoys frolicking in the snow, and there will be a variety of other activities for local families to participate in as well.
Guests at this free event will be invited to grab an inner tube and hit the runs that will be covered with real ice, and they can slide down and land in the snow that will be piled at the base of the slope. Santa, along with his reindeer and elves, will be in town for the occasion, and will be available for photo ops. There will also be airbrush tattoos, strolling carolers, a festive train, and even a snowman building competition.
Area firefighters will also be joining in the fun by toasting marshmallows that can be made into s’mores to go along with the hot chocolate on offer. A festive banner can add the final touch to this sort of function, and can be sourced from an area banner printing company.
‘Snow in the Park’ will be bringing a taste of the North Pole to Winter Park on December 14 and 15. It will be held on the Friday evening and also the Saturday morning.
