Longwood brunch to promote positive mental health for men

LexxiKhan Presents Publishing will be organizing a mental health program in Longwood that is designed for men.

Brunch with Bros is a meeting where men can learn how to handle the issues they face daily. There will be a panel of professional therapists at the event who will share useful tips with attendees and answer their questions about mental health. Guests will have access to free resources and can bring home workbooks from the meeting. Attendees may also participate in raffles to win complimentary therapy sessions and gift cards.

One of the event's speakers is Calvin Ockletree, the author of Hear My Cry. Ockletree is a poet from Indianapolis who earned a degree in criminal justice from Middle Tennessee State University. His work challenges the belief that men cannot be emotional or vulnerable. He will share his background with attendees during the brunch and read from his book. Ockletree will also discuss how he overcame his mental health challenges.

Brunch with Bros will take place on Sunday, July 23rd from noon to 4:00 pm. The program is free, though guests must register to reserve their spot in the event. Those who want brunch will need to pay for their meal at the venue. Organizations that create programs like this may bring promotional Pens to their meetings to share with participants.
