Longwood to hold egg festival

Longwood will be hosting a grill-themed tasting festival in November at Wekiva Island.

The 8th Annual Central Florida Fall EggFest is an event where grilling enthusiasts can gather and showcase their talents with the Big Green Egg grill. Several cooks will attend the fest and offer bite-sized samples of their grilled creations to event-goers. Those who participate as a cook must bring their own plates, utensils, cooking materials, and tablecloths to the event. Food will also be provided by Sikes Southern BBQ.

There are many activities at the egg festival for guests to enjoy, including live performances from Jason Alan and John Varr. People can attend presentations during the event from experienced cooks such as Chris Sussman, Ron Dimpflmaier, and Marcia Simmons. Those who register as cooks for the fest can attend a private meet and greet catered by Without a Paddle Café. Some of the money from the festival will benefit the Keep Seminole Beautiful organization.

The Big Green Egg-themed event will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tasting tickets for the festival will cost $30 per person, though children 10 and under can enter the egg fest for free. No refunds will be given for the tickets. Cooks who participate in food festivals similar to this may use banner printing to make displays for their booths that grab the attention of eventgoers.
