Longwood locals can celebrate Independence Day together at the community’s first freedom festival held at Reiter Park.
The City of Longwood Independence Day Celebration is a gathering where visitors can partake in activities while listening to live music. The festival will feature 12 food trucks and a full bar for attendees to enjoy. Vendors will also participate in the party to showcase their wares. The evening will end with a fireworks display. Free parking for the experience can be found at the Longwood City Hall Complex, Longwood Sunrail Station, and Orlando Health South Seminole.
Music for the occasion will be played by the Tom Petty tribute band “You’re Gonna Get It.” The group originated from New Smyrna Beach and is comprised of members with decades of music experience. Joe Calabrese is the lead vocalist for the band and is backed by guitarist Fabio Gadel and bassist Jeff Moss. Hits performed by the group include I Won’t Back Down and Don’t Do Me Like That. Musicians like this can connect with new clients using their own Business Cards.
The celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3rd from 5:00 pm to 9:15 pm. The community event is free for all to attend and does not require prior registration. Guests are not allowed to bring personal coolers to the festival or fireworks.
