The organization, Shelly’s Warriors, will be organizing a cornhole tournament in Longwood in April to raise money for families needing financial support.
The Shelly’s Warriors Cornhole Tournament is a single-elimination bracket-style competition held at Hourglass Brewing. Cash prizes or gift cards will be awarded to the top three teams in the event. Those who lose in the tourney can also participate in the consolidation bracket round. All attendees are expected to wear a mask during the tournament and must practice social distancing. The cornhole Bags and boards will be sanitized between every game.
Several businesses will be contributing raffle prizes to help Shelly’s Warriors raise money at the competition, including the Clearwater Marina Aquarium, Boxi Park Reserve, and The Glass Knife. Attendees have a chance at winning a signed cookbook from food blogger and executive chef MacKenzie Smith. There will also be gift cards available for stores like Foxtail Coffee, First Watch, and Marlow’s Tavern. Companies involved with fundraisers like this can use Print shops to customize their donations to feature their logos.
The cornhole competition will be held on Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. People who register their teams by this Wednesday, March 17 can pay $40 to join the tournament. General registration fees will cost participants $50. There will be a secondary contest where teams can compete to raise the most money for Shelly’s Warriors. Winners will receive gift cards.
