Having a new baby brother or sister can be a major upheaval for a child, and an upcoming sibling class that is being offered in the Longwood area can help them to enjoy the newest member of their family.
The workshop, which will last for a little over an hour, is geared towards children of all ages. They will learn about babies and what it is like to have one in the home. They will have an opportunity to enjoy a video that gives more details about being a big brother or sister, and they will even have a chance to practice changing a diaper.
Since children can be afraid of what they do not know, a tour of the The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place will be a part of the afternoon’s activities so that they will be able to see where their mom will go to have the new baby. Parents and grandparents are welcome, as are older children. Upon completion of the class, each of the kids will be given their very own sibling certificate. A provider of printing services will be able to design and Print these for each child.
The class will be held on January 18 from 4:00 pm until 5:15 pm. The cost per participant is $20, and anyone who is interested in taking part is invited to contact the Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place at 207-646-7200.
