The Orland Springs Optimist Club will be teaming up with law enforcement from central Florida to bring the 12th annual Cops and Cars for Kids to the Longwood area.
The show, which is open to motorcycles, cars and trucks, is expected draw up to 10,000 members of the public who will come out to see the vehicles. It will be held rain or shine, and each person who makes an entry into the show will be able to order a custom T-shirt that has been designed for the occasion. The first 200 to register their entry will each receive a car dash plaque they can display in their own vehicle. A company that provides printing services will be able to supply these.
Funds raised through the day’s activities will be used to help support the Optimist International Childhood Cancer Campaign, as well as local initiatives that have been undertaken by the service club.
The Cops and Cars for Kids event will be held on January 21st at the Oviedo Mall. There is no charge for those who wish to come out and browse through the cars and trucks, and the registration fee for those who would like to enter their own vehicle is $20 each, with a special category for those age 20 or younger.
