Competition cooks up food and music

The 3rd annual Central Florida's BBQ Blowout is about to take place in Oviedo. It is a fundraising event for both the Oviedo - Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and Helpful Hands, Inc.

The event is sanctioned by the Florida BBQ Association and is set to feature more than 80 cooks who will be competing with one another in the categories of chicken, pork, pork ribs, and brisket. In addition, there will be pork shoulder and sausage-making demonstrations, with samples on sale for $10. Other food and drink will also be available to buy.

Beer lovers can enjoy the craft brews for sale, while kids' activities keep the youngsters happy. Live music will be provided by acts such as Bubba Wilson, the Jeff Howell Band, and Bailey Callahan. Vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of merchandise and arts and crafts, which nonprofit organizations will be providing information about their services and programs to the public too.

Barbecue fans and food lovers from all over the area, including Longwood, are sure to want to attend this event. Organizers may have invested in flyer printing services to help get the word out.
