Longwood is a delightful city located in Seminole County, Florida. The city was used by native tribes living along the coast as a place to stop over, or stay awhile, on their journeys up and down the coast or across country. Their marker was a large Cypress tree, named the Senator, in Longwood but, regretfully, this has recently burnt down. However, the history of the tree and the city can be found in Brochures in Longwood’s tourist and gift shops, and at Minuteman Press we have produced some of these for our customers involved in the tourist trade.
Longwood has numerous attractions such as biking, hiking, and walking trails through some amazingly beautiful nature parks. Tourism is a large contributor to the local economy because the city is part of the Metro Area of Orlando, and is an ideal location to drive to many of the famous attractions that Florida is known for.
Theme and amusement parks, cowboy lands, and water worlds are just some of the places to explore, but Longwood has some long stretches of fine sandy beaches and an amazing year round climate to keep the tourists visiting through the year. If your taste is for sports, then there are some first class golf courses and other sporting facilities close by.
