Water taxis offer holiday vistas in Ft. Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is famous for its warm water and sparkling coastline, especially in the holiday season. This month, the Twelve Nights of Water Taxi offers people in the area a special view of this coast.

The event takes place on a 65-foot water taxi illuminated in holiday decor. Music will be a highlight of the tour, including performances by local churches and a Christmas Carol sing-along. There will also be free popcorn offered for the duration of the ride, as well as special holiday drinks (with and without alcohol) available for purchase at the taxi’s cash bar. No other food will be provided, so attendees are encouraged to eat ahead of time.

The tour itself will last for an hour and a half and will visit a number of Fort Lauderdale locations decked out for the holidays. It is also maximized for accessibility, with proximity to paid city parking and ramp access for attendees in wheelchairs. Space is extremely limited, however, with only 120 spots available on the double-decker water taxi per trip.

The Twelve Nights of Water Taxi event has already begun and lasts for a total of 12 days. Tours are given every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from now until December 16. The taxi boards at Water Taxi Stop #5 right next to the Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina Hotel at 5:45 pm and leaves at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children and must be bought ahead of time. Anyone interested in more information should check the local Brochures or the website.
