Members from the Florida Ukulele Network will hold an event at a local library in Fort Lauderdale for a music-themed holiday.
Those interested in celebrating Play Music on the Porch Day with some talented musicians from the Florida Ukulele Network can attend an open play session at the Broward Main Library. The event is open to acoustic musicians and singers of all experience levels. There will be chords and lyrics projected in the library to help attendees play the same song.
The Florida Ukulele Network is an organization founded in 2013 to encourage more people to play the ukulele while helping communities find musical harmony and happiness. The group has more than 500 participants and hosts events like the South Florida Ukulele Fest. The network also holds meetups for ukulele players.
Play Music on the Porch Day is a holiday created in 2014 as a way to help people break down barriers and bond with others through music. The event is held every year on the last Saturday of August. The creator of the event is Brian Mallman, the founder of NELAart.
