The new Brickell Art Walk adds culture to a nightlife neighborhood

Miami-Dade area art walks have become increasingly popular in recent years, attracting enthusiasts from across the area, including Fort Lauderdale. Each has its own particular vibe but the recently launched Brickell Art Walk offers art and nightlife in one exciting package. The most recent (August 28) walk featured 10 artists, including Miguel Paredes, Alex Morales, and Emil Bodourov.

Home to many lively clubs and restaurants, Brickell is one of Miami’s most happening neighborhoods, but it features few art galleries or studios. This being the case, Brickell Art Walk executive director, Felipe Garcia, came up with an idea to breathe some culture into the area - exhibit works by local artists in Brickell’s restaurants and bars on one Tuesday each month.

Tuesday is a typically slow night for the service industry, so the art walk not only helps artists to gain exposure but also for local businesses to enjoy a busier than average Tuesday once per month. Works by are shown in venues like Red Bar & Gallery, Baru Urbano, and Lolita’s.

The Brickell Art Walk drew over 2,000 people on its premier last June and it continues to grow in popularity, offering not only the chance to see some fantastic art but also to enjoy drinks and food while meeting other art enthusiasts. It makes a particularly good opportunity for printing companies to connect with artists, business owners, and other prospective clients.

The Brickell Art Walk is held on the last Tuesday of every month from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm in the Mary Brickell Village.
