The Spring Bling Fur Paws Red Carpet Event held Sunday, April 22, helped raise money for Ft, Lauderdale and surrounding area dog shelters. It also was aimed at locating homes for dogs currently living in shelters.
A pit-bull mix named Tammy, a basset hound called Freckles and a beagle by the name of Reeses, amongst many other dogs living in area shelters, marched in front of over 300 people at Sunday’s event.
Special fundraising events and activities in the Fort Lauderdale and surrounding area often call upon local Print companies for printing services such as banner printing and flyer printing to raiseublic pawareness. Brochure printers may also be used for such events in an effort to provide information to local citizens within the community who might be interested in supporting the cause of the event.
As Tammy paraded in front of the crowd, Diane Taylor, who organized the event and works at the Warm Heart Rescue, stated that the pit bull was 2 years old and had been living at the shelter for a year.
"So she really, really needs a forever home now," said Taylor about Tammy.
Eight area shelters participated in the Spring Bling Red Carpet Event, and each showed off a variety of animals that currently make their homes at the shelter. Many were decked out in their best attire, including a pink boa, bejeweled doggy shirts and dresses or aprons, in an effort to strut their stuff and find a new home.
The event ended with a look-alike contest, a “Cutest Dog” award, a trick contest and a doggy fashion show.
