The annual Walk Like Madd event will take place in the early spring in Ft. Lauderdale.
Thousands of attendees from across more than 60 cities from around the country are expected to participate in the 5K event.
The Walk Like Madd event was created to put an end to drunk driving in the community. The kickoff party will be sponsored by Brio Tuscan Grille and La Croix. Brio is hosting “light bites” and La Croix will offer “mock-tails”.
The kickoff party will take place next Wednesday, February 11 starting with a presentation on future events. Also part of the festivities will be an auction and a raffle.
Special guests at the kickoff include ex-news anchor Tony Segreto and Broward Sherriff’s Office Colonel Alvin Pollock, this year’s honorary chairman.
The annual Walk Like Madd 5K is scheduled for April 26 at the Huizenga Plaza starting at 7:30 am until and running until noon.
Local printers are available to prepare signage with banner printing. The vinyl Signs are used at outdoor events, particularly at marathons and other race events.
Walkers, volunteers and team captains are needed for the Walk Like Madd event. Registration for virtual walkers can also be completed online if they not able to participate in person.
