Ft. Lauderdale service project seeks beach-loving volunteers

Ft. Lauderdale takers great pride in the beauty of its beaches, and the public's help is needed to keep them in tip-top shape. An event that will remove litter and debris from the beach will be hitting the sand this March, and the more who sign on, the better.

The group of beach cleaners will meet at The Hub on Ft. Lauderdale Beach Boulevard before heading out, and water will be provided. The participants are asked to bring along their own reusable bottle, and wear attire that is appropriate for the task at hand.

Those who are interested in helping out are can choose to register ahead of time, or they can simply show up and be ready to work. Any students who take part may qualify for community service credits, and all volunteers will need to be at least eight years of age.
