Ft. Lauderdale area prepares to feast at food expo

Residents in the Ft. Lauderdale area are getting ready for the 2016 Expo Alfresco.

Hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the event brings in top nearby restaurants for an evening of food and wine, and even features activities for children.

The expo is a yearly fixture in Hollywood, and has grown more popular every year. This year more than 3,000 people are expected to attend. To sate so many appetites, more than 100 different booths are being set up, offering different types of cuisine and wine, as well as also offering some art for sale.

This year will also mark the introduction of the expo’s first beer garden, hosted by Hollywood Brewery. Sponsorships and vendor booths are still available to interested businesses. A sponsorship includes the business’ logo featured prominently on the Flyers.

The event is not all wining and dining though; just like last year, the Muzart Creative Art Studio will be setting up its Kidz Corner. The special area will have interactive cooking demonstrations for children aged 4 to 12, a drum circle, interactive games, and a live art show.

The Expo Alfresco will be held on April 13 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the ArtsPark at Young Circle in Hollywood. Tickets are $35 for adults, and children 10 and under get in free. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website or check the Flyers.
