Fort Lauderdale folks may not be aware that a park in their city features edible plants, and the public’s help is being sought to keep it in top shape.
Volunteers are needed to give the Edible Food Forest at Snyder Park a spruce up, and the organizer is hoping for a big turnout to ease the workload. There are a variety of tasks that need to be done and all help will be appreciated.
Those who sign up to lend a helping hand will water, weed, and plant, and there may even be some produce to harvest. Anyone who is eight or older can participate, but minors need to be accompanied by an adult. The suggested attire is outdoor work clothes, and hats, insect repellent, and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Wearing gloves is also suggested, and any other tools needed to complete the job will be supplied.
A service activity like this gives local stakeholders an opportunity to support the local community and have fun doing so. A printer can supply an assortment of small Promotional Products to give to these helpers to say “thank you” for their efforts.
This spruce up day for Snyder Park will be taking place starting at 9:00 am on December 26. There are spaces for up to 30 volunteers and lots of free parking on site.
