The Parker presents an evening with Garrison Keillor and some co-stars this weekend.
Garrison Keillor hosted "A Prairie Home Companion" for 40 years, has written fiction and comedies, and came up with a fictional town called Lake Wobegon, where all the children are exceptionally smart.
Accompanied by Prudence Johnson and Dan Chouinard, Keillor will put on an evening of stand-up, storytelling, audience song, and poetry. Their performance is set in Lake Wobegon, a thriving community where people are starting new businesses, producing gourmet meatloaf and artisan firewood, breeding composting worms, and training canines to care for children. Within this community, there is the the Living Flag formation on Main Street, where Mr. Keillor lives along with Julie Christensen and Myrtle Krebsbach, who play the characters Bruno and Truckstop. The event will include a sing-along with patriotic music, contemporary hits, hymns, and the national anthem as the finale.
Tickets are on sale and range in price from $35 to $69.50. Banner printing is a fantastic tool for organizers looking to provide more information about performances like this.
The event will be this Sunday, December 4, at 8:00 pm. It will be at the Parker at 707 Northeast 8th Street in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33304. Those interested can visit the Facebook event listing for more information and to purchase tickets.
