The Greater Fort Lauderdale Road Runners Club is presenting the 47th Annual Freedom 5K run in Deerfield Beach next month.
The event will have a distance run that will be suitable for the entire family as it will provide a 5K run, along with a Youth Mile run and a Kids Dash.
Various event sponsors will likely be on site and will likely have tents or Banners sporting their Logo Design and likely will have Brochures and handouts obtained from local Print shops. Runners are encouraged to visit the sponsors before or after the run.
Awards will be presented to the top three runners in various age groups, along with a special award to be presented to the three runners or walkers sporting the best patriotic attire. Those who register in advance and prior to June 13 will be guaranteed a T-shirt as well.
Registration is available on line and runners can pick up their race packets prior to the event at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Road Runners Club Group Fun event being held at George English Park on Thursday, June 27 from 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm. Packets can also be picked up on the Freedom 5K race day.
The 5K begins at 7:00 am, followed by the Kids Dash at 7:45 am and the Youth Mile at 7:50 am. The Freedom 5K will be held on Saturday, June 29 at Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Rd.
