After two years of organizing the exhibition, curator and acclaimed artist and environmentalist Richard Ellis has put together an astounding array of artwork that is sure to bring chills to even the most experienced fishermen.
The exhibition opened on May 12 and features a wide range of media, from photography to sculpture, including works by no less than 70 artists. According to CBS Miami’s website:
“[Sharks are] portrayed as predator, victim and even pop culture icon. In all, there are more than 130 original pieces of work on display.”
Among the works is a gallery dedicated to the 1975 Steven Spielberg film, Jaws, which features original Posters from the film. Graphic designers, Print companies, and brochure printers are sure to be inspired by the exhibition, which could provide ideas for postcard printing, poster printing, and generally creative printing services.
The exhibition will run until January 6, 2013, so there is plenty of time to sink your teeth into SHARK. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for kids age 5 to 17. Children under five get in free, although they may have to pay in the form of a shark related nightmare or two.
