Fort Lauderdale will host the Color Run race this weekend, no doubt much to the delight of the residents.
The event has been dubbed ‘The Happiest 5K on the Planet’ (a theme event continued in its Twitter hashtag) and is a fun race that promotes a healthy lifestyle, individuality, and joy. It is now the largest event series of its type in the country, with over 170 events held in more than 30 countries.
The Color Run is not a timed race; it is meant for fun and to raise money for various charities in each city within which it occurs. Runners are doused in different colors as they reach each kilometer. The participants are required to wear a white shirt when positioning at the start line. By the time they run through the color stations, they will be a rainbow of colors.
Upon completion of the race, runners will have the fun of participating in a Finish Festival. This will include music, dancing, and more color throwing. Concessions will be available here.
Banner printing is usually an important project for organizers of large, outdoor events. Banners are used to guide the runners through each kilometer of the event, and to draw attention to facilities like restrooms and refreshment stands.
