The Local Octopus Foundation invites the Fort Lauderdale neighborhood to participate in World Clean Up Day this September. This event aims to keep the local beaches clean and promote environmental stewardship.
The cleanup event will occur from 8 am to 12 pm and include various activities such as a complimentary fitness workout and yoga session provided by Outfit Fitness. Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate water, fitness gear, and towels.
The beach cleanup will cover a 0.25-mile stretch of sand. Volunteers will receive cleanup supplies, including buckets, gloves, and sanitizer. Drinks and food will be available after the cleanup. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water canteens to support the plastic-free initiative.
Parking will be accessible at B Ocean Resort for $25, but parking at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park and using the pay-by-phone app or hourly meters is recommended.
For more information or to sign up as a sponsor or volunteer, individuals can visit the foundation's website or contact them via email. Attendees should note that the event may be videotaped and photographed for promotional purposes. In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled by 7 am on the day of the event.
Brochure printing can be helpful in advertising events such as this one and explaining the need and benefits.
The event will take place on September 21 from 8 am to 12 pm at 1140 Seabreeze Blvd Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
