The 62nd annual David Deal Playday event is taking place for three days this August in Fort Lauderdale, hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department.
The first day of the celebration will include the Teen Battle of the DJs, a championship swim meet, and Boxing under the Stars, which is set to be a showcase of the Contender's Boxing Club and Florida Gold Coast Association of USA Boxing.
The second day will feature the Family Festival with bounce houses, games, arts and crafts, and food and drinks. Later on in the same evening, the Summer Jamz and Legacy Tribute, with music from the Larry Dogg Band, Heavenly Express, and the Valerie Tyson Band, will take place.
The 4th annual golf tournament will be held at Osswald Park. The nine-hole course and is set to feature some local golf legends. Participants can compete for prizes for closest to the pin and putting.
This popular event will likely be advertised in Fort Lauderdale with Flyers and Posters obtained from local printing companies.
David Deal Playday will be held at Carter Park from August 7 to 8 and August 15. Admission is free of charge for everything but the golf tournament.
