Delray Beach to hold alcohol tasting and dinner

The restaurant Warren in Delray will hold a whiskey and food pairing experience in May led by Dan Patton.

The Pappy Van Winkle Dinner is an event where those who like whiskey can learn about the Pappy Van Winkle brand and enjoy a group meal. The business was started by Pappy Van Winkle after he took over W.L. Weller & Sons and the A. Ph. Stitzel Distillery in 1935. He altered the original company's recipe by using wheat instead of rye to produce its alcohol. The business sells many types of whiskey, such as the Van Winkle Special Reserve and the Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye.

Dan Patton is the portfolio manager of the Sazerac Company, a business in the beverage industry that was founded in 1850 and produces alcohol such as vodka, tequila, gin, and whiskey. Patton originally worked for Sazerac as its market development representative and also has experience as a marketing specialist and brand manager. He also bartended at businesses such as the Kona Brewing Company and John D. McGurk's Irish Pub.

The whiskey tasting event and dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 6th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost of the experience is $1,000 per person. Refunds for the whiskey tasting will be available up to seven days before the event.
