Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square in Delray Beach will hold an opening for an upcoming art exhibit in June.
The Persistence of Matter is a new art collection at the Cornell Art Museum that celebrates sustainability and creativity. The pieces in the exhibition turn discarded materials into art that explores themes like resilience and renewal. The opening reception will give people opportunities to meet with the participating artists, and there will also be live music at the art gallery. The experience will take place in the upper-level galleries of the museum.
The curators for the art collection are Mavis Benson and Pam Lambie. Benson is a graduate of East Carolina University who once owned the Avalon Gallery in Delray Beach. Lambie is an artist who makes multi-layered paintings that capture the beauty of the outdoors. She is also the co-founder and treasurer for ART Connect, an organization in Palm Beach that helps people get connected with other artists through monthly meetings and activities.
The opening for the Persistence of Matter collection will be held on Friday, June 5th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Registration isn’t needed for people to attend the reception. The collection will be available to view until September 27th. Museums that hold opening events like this can use flyer printing to make ads that invite consumers to attend their programs.
