Delray Beach studio to teach figure drawing basics

The Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach will be holding a class in December to teach students the basics of drawing anatomy.

The Basics of Figure Drawing is a workshop where beginners can learn how to improve the way they approach anatomy in their drawings. The course will use a clothed model as a reference for the sketches. During the art class, attendees will learn about the articulation of figures in space, gesture drawing, and proportions. The instructor of the workshop is Neal Hanowitz. All materials needed for the lesson are provided by the venue, though students are permitted to bring their own materials to the studio.

The Arts Warehouse is a building that was rehabilitated by the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. The venue hosts many activities, including visual art workshops, presentations, and exhibitions. Grace Gdaniec is the manager of the warehouse and has been with the organization since it opened in 2017. She was once the Director of Programming at Bailey Contemporary Arts and had experience as a gallery coordinator.

The figure drawing workshop will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Tickets to the lesson will cost each student $50. Artistic organizations that host drawing classes such as this may use flyer printing services to get more locals interested in their art programs.
