As a new season springs into Washington, eager gardeners will be able to plant and harvest an assortment of culinary greens for the table.
An early April workshop has been prepared by the U.S. Botanic Garden, and it will introduce the public to how easy it can be to have freshly picked greens on the table. It will include both a horticultural and cooking component, and there is no registration fee for the online session.
Danielle Cook, who is a Nutritionist and cooking instructor, will be teaming up with her sister Adrienne to host the activity, and the audience will be treated to both a discussion and cooking demo. The recipe used will include freshly harvested greens, and there will also be tips shared for starting these plants from seed in home garden plots or containers.
This presentation will be offered on both the Botanical Garden’s Facebook page and through its website. It is not necessary to pre-register, and details about an activity like this can be included in materials that a flyer printing company will be able to prepare to promote the occasion to the public in the local area.
The Garden Greens and Green Gardens workshop is scheduled to be offered on April 1, starting at 12:00 pm. The U.S. Botanic Gardens Facebook page includes more details for anyone who would like to find out more.
