Washington ride lights up Capitol Hill
A family ride will see Washington families light up the night, and it will provide views of the light displays on Capitol Hill.
Hill Family Biking has organized a Holiday Lights Ride, and everyone who participates is encouraged to get into the spirit of the season by adorning their bike with festive lights. The staging area will be located at Watkins Elementary School's parking lot.
When they arrive at the starting point, the attendees will be greeted by volunteers who will help to keep everything running smoothly, and they will ensure everyone stays together. Members of the MPD Bike Team will be on hand as well, and lightsticks will be distributed. Anyone who's bike needs some love before they head out is asked to arrive 15 minutes early so they can give their ride a tune up, and tools will be available for this. Eastern Market Playground plaza will serve as the endpoint, and light refreshments will be served.
Walks, runs and rides that take place at night often call for specially designed signage that is easy to spot in the dark. A banner printing company will have a range of choices available.
Washington families will be adding some extra brightness to the holiday season with the Hill Family Biking-Holiday Lights Ride on December 13th. It will begin at 4:30 pm, and helmets are required.
