Washington’s U.S. National Arboretum helps preserve both plant and animal species, and local bird enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy a guided outing at the venue.
Mid-August will see the Arboretum welcome both new and experienced birders for its Summer Bird Walk. It will be a two-hour outing led by a member of DC Bird Alliance.
The venue boasts over 450 acres of trees, shrubs, and other plants, and the walk will offer an introduction to the habitats this urban greenspace provides. The leader for the activity will discuss the species that can be found in the venue, as well as local avian populations, bird behavior, and spotting tips. While no registration fees are being charged, donations will be welcome, as this will help fund future programming.
The activity is limited to those 16 and up, and pets will not be permitted. Free parking is available, and accommodations may be available for those with a mobility issue or other disability.

Saturday, August 15 will see the U.S. National Arboretum explore its feathered friends. The walk will start at 9:00 am.
