In days gone by, President Lincoln's wife Mary hosted summer events built around one of her favorite foods, and a Washington event will recapture the spirit of her seasonal soirees.
The annual Strawberry Soiree, which is being planned by DC Social Collective along with President Lincoln’s Cottage, will be a garden party-style affair. The suggested dress for those on the guestlist is breezy summer cocktail.
People at the celebration will be able to stroll through and admire the venue’s gardens, and as the location tends to be cooler than the surrounding areas, it will provide a break from the summer heat. Live music will be playing, and everyone who is interested can take a group swing dance lesson. Flower crown crafting stations and curated cocktails along with a champagne cart, lawn games, and interpreters will round out the evening.
An event with a historical flavor may be able to put the services of a banner printing company that can perform graphic design work to good use. It can create period-style decor and other custom materials, and many of its options will fall within a tight budget.
This strawberry-themed summer soiree will be held at President Lincoln's Cottage on Saturday, August 9th. A ticketing link has been made available. At the time of writing, both general admission and VIP tickets remain available.
